How to Handle an Arrogant Spiritual Guide?

Dear Serafina,

I hope you're well. I'm a little at a crossroads and feeling confused, so I'd love your advice. I've recently completed an Akashic Records course, which touched me deeply and opened my eyes in such a beautiful way. The problem is that, while the subject matter of the course was incredible, I've been made to feel uncomfortable by the teacher's attitude.

She's just so assertive, almost arrogant at times, and it's left a bad taste. I know that I'm hypersensitive, and maybe I do sense energies more subtly, but I'm getting this dense energy that something as sacred as the Akashic Records should not be the vibration.

I also feel a little guilty, like it's my fault for not dealing with emotions or energy in a better way. But my intuition is urging me to speak up about her behavior, although I don't want to seem ungrateful because I have learned a great deal.

Am I justified in feeling this way, or ought I to be more compassionate towards her? Is there a lesson to be learned here, even though I don't agree with her method?

Thanks so much for your input. I feel this is touching something deep within me, and your response would be greatly appreciated.

Love,

Sarah

Dear Sarah,

Thank you for being willing to share and let me know how you feel. What is happening to you is completely normal. The Akashic Records, as you know, are such a powerful tool, but they also open us up to so much energy. It is only natural that, with your sensitivity, you are more strongly picking up on others' vibrations. And if something in your teacher's approach does not feel right to you, you are not to dismiss it.

Every teacher has their own way, and not everyone does it in a manner that feels comfortable to us. That fierceness or arrogance might be something that doesn't match our energy at times, especially in such a spiritually vulnerable environment. What is happening for you is not an error or something to be embarrassed about. It is simply a sign of your intuition functioning, present and attuned to what is occurring around you.

Do not fault yourself for what is taking place. Spirituality does not equate to taking everything on the face value without questioning. The most important lessons generally appear in the form of discomfort. Perhaps this is taking place so that you may learn to protect your energy and establish boundaries—tools essential when working with such high-vibrational energies.

Finally, the spiritual path is less about finding great teachers, but rather in learning to discern what truly resonates for you. Any experience, even difficult ones which shake us to our foundations, have something valuable to teach us.

With all my love,

Serafina

How Do I Approach My Boss About Taking on More Tasks for a Promotion?

Dear Serafina, I really want to get promoted at work. I've been thinking of doing some extra work in order to prove myself in other areas beyond my department. For example, I can help with sales analysis or marketing projects. I want to prove that I can handle more responsibility. How do I approach talking to my boss about this? How do I make sure that my efforts are noticed? Thanks, Alice     Dear Alice, I simply adore what you're doing! How can I relieve the symptoms of menopause so they don't affect my well-being?

Dear reader, Menopause can seem like a difficult puzzle to unravel, a dense fog that suddenly envelops you. Hot flashes, fatigue and mood swings emerge out of the blue, yet with a little knowledge and patience, you can navigate this transition with greater peace of mind. Start with the basics: your diet. Your body is a castle, and food is its foundation. A well-balanced diet can reduce symptoms and give you the energy you need to survive the day. Don't overlook a daily walk or yoga class. Exercise not only silences hot flashes, but also improves mood and sleep quality. Stress, that invisible enemy, can exaggerate everything. By taking just five minutes to breathe or meditate, you may just find the key to staying calm. If the symptoms are...
